About this item
An unstitched 1.5 metre length for your own tailor — enough for a cholo with sleeves for most sizes, and the way most people who know what they want buy dhaka.
Handwoven cotton dhaka, full width. Take it to whoever makes your blouses and they will know exactly what to do with it; if they have not sewn dhaka before, tell them it behaves like a medium-weight cotton and that the pattern runs along the warp, so it needs laying out with an eye to where the motifs land.
Wash the length before it is cut and sewn, not after. It will shrink a little and the colour will settle, and it is far better that happens on a flat piece of cloth than on a finished garment.
