About this item
The 12cm bowl: low, deep, and it sustains for a very long time after you stop.
Hand-hammered like the smaller one, so the pitch is its own — and at this size the difference between one bowl and the next is obvious enough that you should choose by ear rather than by description. Come and play the ones I have before you decide. That is not a sales line; it is the only sensible way to buy a bowl this size, and it costs you nothing but the trip.
Struck once on the side it gives a single long note; run round the rim slowly and it builds into a tone you can feel in your chest. It needs a heavier hand and a slower circle than the 9cm.
Cushion and striker are not included at this size — most people at this point want to choose their own, and I have both to hand if you do not.
