About this item
This is the one for real chiya, and it is not trying to be anything else.
CTC — crush, tear, curl — is the machine-processed leaf that stands up to being boiled hard with milk, ginger, cardamom and sugar for five minutes. The whole-leaf orthodox teas above would be destroyed by that treatment, and would waste your money in the process. This is built for it: strong, malty, reliable, and it takes milk without disappearing.
Half a kilo, because nobody makes chiya once. A rounded spoon per cup of water, in with the ginger from cold, milk in when it comes up, and let it rise twice.
