Half a kilo. This is the size for a kitchen that cooks in quantity — a family that feeds people at Dashain, a caterer, or two or three households splitting a sack between them, which is how most of it actually leaves here.
Nothing about the spice differs from the smaller jars: one picking, one fire, one grower. Only the quantity and the price per gram change.
A word on keeping it, since half a kilo takes a while to work through: whole pods hold their smoke for a year and more in a sealed jar away from light and heat. Do not decant it into something clear and leave it on a sunny shelf, and do not grind it all at once.
