About this item
Titaura is made from lapsi — the Nepali hog plum — cooked down with sugar, salt and chilli into the sour, sweet, hot, sticky thing that every school gate in Kathmandu sells. This is the soft, chewy kind. It is a snack, not an ingredient, and it disappears from a room faster than anything else on this shelf, which is why there are three packets left from the last carton and the next one is a month away. Contains chilli; children who grew up here find it hot, children who grew up there do not.
